Patient transfer trolley system
Model 410 - PC
The Strongman patient transfer system has been designed to provide a comprehensive method of handling patients in the hospital where a concept of clearly defined sterile and non-sterile areas are in use. They have proved highly successful over a number of years, and as a part of a policy of continual improvement, this page shows the latest modifications designed to facilitate even easier transfers of the patient in and out of these areas. The non-sterile chassis is distinguished by RED castors wheels and the sterile area chassis by YELLOW ones. The patient is collected from the ward on the red wheeled chassis, and at the transfer point to the sterile area the red and yellow wheeled chassis are linked together. This action frees the transfer platform to move with the patient onto the sterile chassis. As a further safety feature to protect the patient, both safety sides must be raised before the top can be transferred. The sterile area chassis can then move to the pre-operation preparation area with disturbance to the patient being minimal. The sterile area chassis with platform, can be used as a recovery room trolley complete with all necessary facilities for anesthetic and post-operative procedures. Experience has shown that, providing a reasonable quantity of trolleys is considered, this system can be operated most efficiently utilising a ratio of two sterile area chassis, each with a transfer platform, to one non-sterile area chassis. Chassis Features : Each chassis has a frame of welded tubular steel, which is designed to lock end-to-end with a second chassis, such that the transfer can move longitudinally from one chassis to the other. A unique self-levelling device allows the two chassis to be pushed easily together, and then firmly locked as one unit. Foot up tilt its instantly available to any angle up to 12 degrees. The ati-static castors are 9" diameter. Revolving buffers are fitted at each corner of the chassis for wall protection. Accessories includes a IV pole, an oxygen cylinder holder, and a stainless steel utility tray. Platform Features: When released, the platform glides effortlessly on eight large nylon rollers between the two chassis. Full length x-ray photography is possible through the radio translucent mattress support by means of a movable x-ray cassette holder on the underside of the platform. The backrest may be adjusted by use of a ratchet through five positions to 45 degrees. Onto the platform are fitted chrome safety sides, and there are two IV rod sockets so that a patient may remains on a drip whilst being transferred. The platform is supplied complete with antistatic radio translucent mattress which is secured with the platform with 4 hooks.
